Project Details

An EPC contract (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) was signed between Aksa Enerji Üretim A.Ş. and MUREL Yatırım İnşaat A.Ş. for the implementation of the Aksa Plant B – Uzbekistan 230 MW Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant Project (CCPP). The contract covered disassembly, engineering, procurement, construction, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation assembly, testing, and commissioning.

Phase 1:

The first phase involved the disassembly of two power plants, each with a capacity of 115 MW, located in Manisa and Van, Türkiye. The scope included:

  • 24 Wärtsilä 34SG gas engines and steam boilers
  • 2 Siemens steam turbines and generators required for the combined cycle
  • 2 transformers
  • Auxiliary equipment
  • Steel structures, piping, 1,140 electrical panels, 38,500 meters of cables, and 1,280 instruments

All components were disassembled, cleaned, painted, and packaged in compliance with international standards and customs inspections within 80 days. Following packaging, logistics, and transportation, the equipment was shipped to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, via sea and road.

Phase 2:

In the second phase, the transported equipment was positioned, and engineering works were completed to consolidate the two power plants into a single, unified energy plant.

Key tasks included:

  • 38,000 m³ of excavation
  • 21,000 m³ of concrete works
  • 1,300 tons of construction rebar
  • Construction of a 7,850 m² enclosed area
  • 1,200 tons of steel structures
  • Assembly and welding of 24 steam boilers
  • Assembly and welding of 750 m³ of tanks
  • Installation of a cooling tower with a capacity of 6,300 m³
  • Assembly of 65 Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment units
  • 42,000 WDI pipe assembly and welding
  • 2,100 m² of facade cladding
  • Installation and termination of 630 electrical panels
  • Installation of 1,200 instruments
  • 25,000 m² of tank, pipe, and equipment insulation
  • Installation of 29,000 meters of cables

The plant was designed in accordance with local standards and successfully commissioned. To support on-going energy investments in Uzbekistan, MUREL Yatırım İnşaat A.Ş. has established a permanent office in the country and continues its operations there.
