Varaka Thermal Power Plant Project is a thermal power plant with a capacity of 40 MW for electricity generation and 150 tons/hour of steam production, designed to meet the energy needs of the Varaka Kağıt Fabrikası. The project was executed under a turnkey contract signed in 2016 between Albayrak Varaka Kağıt Sanayi A.Ş. and Murel Yatırım İnşaat A.Ş. for all mechanical, electrical, and commissioning work.

The site handover was completed on 01.09.2016. The project was successfully delivered to the employer on 01.05.2018 in accordance with the international standards and within the total time frame of the contract.

The primary fuel for the plant is coal, and the electricity and steam produced also supply the processes of the factory located parallel to the plant. The plant reaches its production capacity of 40 MW when all the steam is utilized.

• Chimney and filter system installation
• Coal crusher and conveyor system installation
• 220,000 meters of cable installation
• 16,000 terminations
• 77 electrical panels and full automation works
• Facade cladding and insulation works
